Mentor Teacher Brother, Inc. (MTB®) would like to request your support of a $5.00 donation for our building fund. Our Building Fund campaign is a year-round fundraiser with an annual goal to raise $20,000. The proceeds will be used for expansion, renovation and up-keep of the MTB Center®. Thanks to generous contributions from the public, corporate sponsorship and individuals who believe in our mission, in 2010 we acquired a building to house our year-round programming.
Our mission is to help young men get the right start in life by providing them opportunities that otherwise would not have existed. We understand that life changes can occur through defining moments in a person life. So to that end, we strive to create those defining moments. Mentor Teacher Brother is a collective group of college students, former college students, professionals, community leaders and volunteers who have made a commitment in principle and action to transform the plight of troubled young men from despair and apathy to hope and possibility.
During the critical transition from youth to adulthood, teens often develop the skills, attitudes, and behaviors that will substantially affect their ability to lead a productive quality of life. Mentoring has been widely noted for its potential to positively affect adolescents during this critical transition period. To address the aforementioned issues, Mentor Teacher Brother, Inc. created programs specifically designed to help youth navigate through a host of social ills they are forced to deal with every day.
Mentor Teacher Brother, Inc.(MTB®) is a not-for-profit organization founded solely to help young men get the right start in life through individual and group mentoring. Our mentors are male college students and former college students from various fields of study. Our mentors get together weekly to work with youth throughout the City of Chicago in effort to provide additional supportive services to young men who need guidance. MTB® is proud to have worked with hundreds of young men year-round since 2007. We are committed in principle and purpose to making a difference in our mentees’ lives; providing that extra support throughout major milestones - transitioning from junior-high school to high school; and from high school to college.
